Food Stamp New Worker Training
Participants are required to complete an orientation prior to attending the training. Phase I of this class is a 13-day FS policy course. The content of this curriculum includes application processing, assistance units, basic eligibility criteria, resources, income, budgeting, deductions, notification, changes, reviews and interview skills.
Phase II is a 9-day instructor led Food Stamp SUCCESS training in a computer lab.
The assessment for this curriculum is 3 open book FS exams and is identical to the FS/RSM training but without the RSM component.

Food Stamp/RSM New Worker Training
Participants are required to complete an in-county orientation prior to attending the training. Phase I of this class is a 13-day FS policy course. The content of this curriculum includes application processing, assistance units, basic eligibility criteria, resources, income, budgeting, deductions, notification, changes, reviews and interview skills.
Phase II is a 15-day instructor led training in a computer lab. This training includes 9 days of Food Stamp SUCCESS training and 6 days of Right from the Start Medicaid policy and SUCCESS procedures. RSM policy is learned through a combination of self-directed learning using Internet material and review of the material by the trainer. Participants also learn how to screen for LIM eligibility and the CMD process for the other types of Medicaid.
The assessment for this curriculum is 3 open book FS exams, one comprehensive FS/RSM open book exam, and a SUCCESS skill demonstration.

Aged, Blind, Disabled (ABD) Medicaid Training
Participants are required to complete an orientation prior to attending the training. Phase 1 of this class is a 19-day ABD Medicaid policy course designed for new and veteran workers with no prior ABD Medicaid experience.
The content of the curriculum includes application processing, basic eligibility criteria, income, financial responsibility, basic eligibility budgeting, Q-track, FBR, Adult Medically Needy, Waivered and Other Medicaid Cap, Patient Liability/Cost Share budgeting, and resources.
The assessment for this training is 3 open book exams.
Phase II 8-days of instructor led training of SUCCESS for ABD Medicaid and Food Stamps. This course includes Registration, Intake, and Case Maintenance.

Employment Services (ES) Training
This 10-day session on ES policy and procedures is designed for new and veteran workers who have no background in Employment Services. Participants are required to complete an orientation prior to attending the training. The orientation focuses on an introduction to the agency and resources available in each county. The first five days of instructor led classroom training covers an overview of the ES program, case management, establishing productive worker client relationships, participation requirements, applicant services, work activities, support services, assessment, development of a Personal Work Plan, and conciliation. The second five days is instructor-led training in a computer lab covering ES policy and SUCCESS procedures.
The assessment for this training is one open book proficiency exam.

Food Stamp Employment and Training (E&T) Training
This 8-day session on FS Employment and Training (E&T) is designed for new or veteran workers who have no background in FS E&T. The first five days cover an overview of the E & T program, case management, participation requirements, training and employment activities for ABAWDs, support services, establishing productive worker client relationships, assessment, development of a Personal Work Plan, non-compliance, and reports. The last three days is instructor-led training in a computer lab covering FS E&T SUCCESS procedures.
The assessment for this training is one open book proficiency exam.

SUCCESS Screening and Case Registration Training
This 2-day session in the computer lab is intended for new support staff. The course has recently been extensively revised and veteran support staff could also benefit from participation. The course includes a section on initial screening in the Client Registration System (CRS) with an emphasis on correctly identifying and re-using existing Client IDs. Also covered are basic SUCCESS concepts and skills, including screening, inquiry, and registering Food Stamp, TANF, LIM, RSM and ABD Medicaid applications.

Phase III Training
Workers who successfully complete the Food Stamp and the Food Stamp/Right from the Start New Worker training are automatically assigned to attensd this 5 -day session. The training is usually scheduled approximately three months after they have received Phase I and II. This training involves additional advanced policy as well as interview skills, caseload management and error reductions techniques. Veteran staff can also register for the class and will find it useful.
The assessment for this training is one open book proficiency exam.
Prior to attending the Phase III training, all trainees MUST complete the Shelter Training Internet module with a score of at least 80% on the final assessment.

Food Stamp Training for ABD Workers
This 8-day session focuses specifically on the Food Stamp knowledge needed to handle ABD-related FS cases. Topics include determination of assistance unit members, basic eligibility requirements such as residency, enumeration and citizenship, resources, income, budgeting, deductions and handling changes and reviews in ongoing cases. The assessment for this training is two short quizzes to check for comprehension of the material.

Temporary Assistance to Needy Families Training
This 10-day session on TANF policy and procedures is designed for workers who have completed the FS/RSM or FS only training
and Phase 3. The content of this curriculum includes an introduction to TANF, PRP requirements, application processing, basic
eligibility requirements, assistance units, income, resources, budgeting, completion of changes and reviews on TANF cases, and
penalties/sanctions/conciliation. This class does not train SUCCESS procedures, but participants do receive a self-study packet on
additional SUCCESS screens and fields unique to TANF. The county should review this material with participants when they
return from training.
The assessment for this training is 2 open book exams.
Students may complete this training via Internet rather than attend the classroom training.

Medical Assistance Only (MAO) New Worker Training
This 8-day session on Family Medicaid types is designed for new or veteran workers who have completed the FS/RSM or FS only training and Phase 3. The content of this curriculum includes an overview of Medicaid, basic Medicaid consideration (non-financial, financial, and budgeting), classes of assistance (with emphasis on Low Income Medicaid, Newborn, Work Transitional Medicaid, 4 Months MAO, and Right from the Start Medicaid), and completion of changes and reviews on Medicaid cases.
This class does not include SUCCESS information. The county should review appropriate SUCCESS screens with participants when they return from training.
The assessment for this training is 2 open book exams.
Students may complete this training via Internet rather than attend the classroom training.
