Substance Abuse Forums

What:

  • Dr. Karen Howell, Senior Research Scientist and Substance Prevention Specialist at Emory University’s School of Medicine, will discuss specific experiences and risk factors associated with substance abusing families, as well as support services needed for the children of addicted caregivers and the process of family recovery.

  • A panel with a recovering individual plus family and community supports will discuss treatment and what support means to successful recovery.

  • A mini resource fair will provide an opportunity to network with community providers and prevention experts.
