Trainees are to bring the following
to Documentation Training:
- At least one full page of the trainee's own Form 452 documentation
- Chapter 80: Documentation Policy
- Chapter 70: Case Record Maintenance and Review Policy
- Up-to-date Program policy manual: (APS, CPS, Foster Care, FSW, or Adoption)
- On-The-Job Training Guide with Week III OJT completed
Supervisors and trainees are asked to do the following to maximize the benefits of the training:
Before the training:
- Discuss the trainee's strengths and areas for improvement in case record
documentation.
- Agree on what the trainee is expected to learn and/or do differently as a result of attending the training.
After the training:
- Review together the Personal Assessment Form completed by the trainee in
class.
- Review the documentation of video interviews and checklists completed in
class.
- Develop a plan to address needed improvements.
- If possible, the supervisor should observe the trainee conduct an interview
and then read his/her documentation of that interview. This will help the supervisor
assess and document that the case manager can accurately document what actually
occurs.
Regarding OJT
Week III OJT should be completed
prior to attending Documentation Training. If the trainee does not have an OJT
Guide, the supervisor should request one by contacting Taiwanna Head at 404-463-7241
or Groupwise thead@dhr.state.ga.us.
If the trainee is a veteran case
manager, the supervisor should review the OJT Master Checklist with them. The
supervisor will initial and date the "date completed" column for all
the activities in which the trainee has proficiency. Activities that are not
applicable to the trainee's job description will be marked "N/Ap".
The trainee will complete other activities as needed.
