How important are my scores on the exercises and self-assessments?
The scores that you receive during this online training are for your benefit.  They are designed to assist you in determining how well you comprehend the material.  If you do not score in the 80% range on the questions (exercises and self-assessments) you probably should go back and review the material before proceeding.

I repeated a set of exercises/questions.  My average score did not reflect my new answers.
The computer uses all of your answers to compute an average score.  Therefore, your previous lower score is averaged with your more recent higher score.  Contact the Help Desk to obtain your more recent score.

What should I do during an exercise if, after clicking the Submit Answer button, my score does not appear?
Sometimes, after you click the Submit button, the system will take a little time to return your results. Wait a minute, and then if nothing happens, try clicking the Submit button one more time. If it still doesn't work, you can either restart your Web browser and begin again or contact the Help Desk.

When you are asked to enter a date, you must press the enter key after entering each date to submit your answers.  Your score will appear at the bottom of the page and reflect the number of dates you have entered.

What should I do during an exercise if, after clicking the Next Question button, a new question does not appear?
There are several possibilities here. In some sets of exercises, the same scenario is used several times.  These questions may look the same, yet each question focuses on a different aspect of the scenario.  Pay careful attention to the question number.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes to load a question.  Be patient.  If one doesn't appear after a minute or two, click the next question button again. (For another hint, see the next question on this page.)

If the next question still does not appear, click the Previous button on the navigation bar to return to the page prior to the exercise.  Begin the exercise again.  (Read the next question on this page for tips.) If beginning again does not solve the problem you will need to exit the training, close Netscape, restart the training, and return to the point at which you exited.

Contact the Help Desk if you cannot resolve this problem.

When I clicked to go to the next question, the training skipped a question.  Why?  Will my grade be adversely affected?
When you click Next Question you must be patient and wait for the next question to load.  This process may take a minute; if you click Next Question again, before the question has had time to load, the program may skip to the next question.

If a question is skipped, you may then decide whether to continue with the questions or to click Previous and restart the exercise.  If you are concerned about inaccuracies in your score because of skipped questions, contact the Help Desk.

There was not enough information provided in the instructional material to enable me to answer a question.
Sometimes the training material does not cover all of the details of a policy.  You are then referred to your policy manual for further information.  It is important that you consult your policy manual for supplementary information when you are instructed to do so.

Click here for more information on accessing the DFCS Online Policy Manuals.

I was working on a question, and the computer crashed (screen froze, words went off the screen, etc.).  Why?  What do I need to do?
Try the following steps until you are successful.

  1. Click Previous to restart the exercise.
  2. Close the browser by clicking the close button in the upper right hand corner.
  3. Shut down the computer by pressing the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys at the same time and then choosing Shut Down.
  4. Restart the computer, restart your Web browser, and return to the point at which you exited the training.

If you still have problems, contact the Help Desk.

I entered all my answers in a short answer question.  I did not receive feedback and my score is 0%.
To submit your answer, you must press the enter key after you enter each answer.  After pressing enter, you will receive a score and feedback.

I am in a multiple choice question and there wasn't a correct answer.
Sometimes you must scroll to view all of the answer choices in a multiple choice question.  If you still think that there is no correct answer, contact the Help Desk.
